Giveaway Started by U.S. Rep. Elton Gallegly to Thank Point Mugu Military for Service and Sacrifice

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., December 4, 2011 – First California Bank continued its efforts to give back to the community by being a Patron donor for the purchase of toys and bicycles for children of armed services personnel deployed overseas. The giveaway, and Christmas party, is for families stationed at Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu.

The event was started nearly 10 years ago by U.S. Rep. Elton Gallegly of Simi Valley and his wife, Janice, as a way to thank those serving in the U.S. military for their service and sacrifice. At this year's event, more than 3,800 gifts and 500 bicycles were distributed to more than 1,000 children.

"I want to thank First California Bank and its CEO, C. G. Kum, for their unwavering support of our country's military families and the sacrifices they make on our behalf," said U.S. Rep. Gallegly. "C. G. has long been a benefactor to the community. I first met him at a Boys & Girls Club fundraiser. Their generous donation to the military made it possible for so many children who have a father or mother deployed or about to be deployed overseas to have a merry Christmas and share in the joy of the holidays."
